I support Peter Shumlin because he has an intimate knowledge of how Vermont works and what it needs to succeed. Peter grew up in Southern Vermont with his brother and sister, and now owns his own small business. Because of this longtime experience as a small business owner, Peter actually understands the stress that employers are under to create jobs and meet a payroll. Frankly, a business perspective is exactly what Vermont needs right now. We need someone who has actually balanced a budget and created good paying jobs at the helm of state government. Peter is exactly the kind of person I want as Governor to attract young people back to this state so we can start our own small businesses, raise a family and join the work force.
