Leadership for a strong Vermont

Peter Files for Governor

IMG_0752 At 10:30 this morning, Peter was joined by a group of volunteers at the Secretary of State’s Office where he submitted more than 1,261 signatures to place Peter on the ballot in August. We more than doubled the signatures required to get Peter onto the ballot and it was thanks to our loyal volunteers who fanned out across this state and circulated petitions to secure a slot on the ballot for Peter.

The signatures collected came from Burlington and Montpelier to as far away as Lyndonville and Putney and everywhere in between.

“I’m encouraged by the support of such a wide diversity of Vermonters from across the state,” said Peter after he filed for office in Montpelier. “Obtaining more then double the amount of signatures in such a short period of time demonstrates that I have enthusiastic and broad support.”

“It’s quite an extraordinary thing,” Senator Shumlin said, “to see so many folks engaged in the political process. We have a unique opportunity to reengage the people of Vermont and present them with a clear choice in this election. We can either remain bogged down, stuck in the muck of party politics, or we can take on tough issues with bold leadership and create jobs, get all Vermonters access to quality, affordable health care and get our economy moving again.”
